Join us this Sabbath as we continue our sermon series: STEPS TOWARDS JESUS!

Section 4: The Body of Jesus - Despite how the followers of Jesus twist Him and His message, God chose to trust us with His message to the entire world. So much so that He calls the group that follows and shares God’s saving message His body. Like its human namesake, that body has to work in harmony to effectively and unanimously share the final message to this planet. To do it effectively, God has promised gifts and strength to empower the body.

Step 1. Jesus' love lived out loud

Pastor Jean's sermon this Sabbath is entitled:

"Living Love"

We live in a world where we are our own gods, our own idols, and a world where the name of God is used as a cuss word, an exclamation, a way to react to fear, and not a description of our loving Creator.

We live in a world that is not at rest. A world that works 24/7.

Kids are disrespectful to their parents, and there are more rifts between families than ever before.

We live in a world of murders, at every stage of life, in the news, simulated non-stop on all over media, in our video games, and even in our humor.

We live in a world where adultery is no longer newsworthy or cautionary. It is not shocking anymore, and it is actually treated more often than not as entertainment.

Theft is the subject of major motion pictures and video games. Perjury and deceit are common among our leaders and role models, and to a certain degree, we might be surprised when they are honest.

Our world, our society, and our economy are seemingly fueled and sustained by greed and gluttony. We are a co-violent society that is never happy with what we have.

The Bible tells us that by beholding, we become changed, and it also says that if we keep our gaze on God, we will be transformed by his glory (2 Corinthians 3:18).

God’s law was precisely given to us to prevent these terrible realities from happening. It was given to us so we could avoid pain and the terrible outcomes of selfishness. Things like trauma, stress, divorce, loss, unhappiness, careless mistakes all take place when we are careless with the law of God.

When Jesus spoke to us about law-keeping, He spoke about it from the perspective of love. He wants us to be happy and whole even while we wait for His return.

Living this Law of Love isn't just a "me" thing it is something that has to be taught, emulated, and passed down from generation to generation, not just because we might be Adventists or Christians.

We need to find the time to do this because, through His law of love, Jesus shows us that God is interested in our lives, our relationships, our things, our commitment to each other and Him, and He shows that we are of extreme value to Him.

"If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love." John 15:10

Sabbath school will start at approximately 9:30 am

Church Service

"For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing. To the one we are the aroma of death leading to death, and to the other the aroma of life leading to life. And who is sufficient for these things? For we are not, as so many, peddling the word of God; but as of sincerity, but as from God, we speak in the sight of God in Christ."

Meals for Waimanalo!

This Friday God blessed with amazing connections with our community! We were able to pass out over 80 meals!

We were also able to reconnect with some of our community who needed hope and food in their lives.

Thanks to a special donation from Adventist Health Castle everyone we met was able to receive three cloth masks along with their meals and water.

A special thank you to all the beautiful hearts, hands and feet from our Waimanalo SDA 'ohana that make this possible every week!

A special thank you to the other members of the community that continue to diligently prepare and share this amazing ministry to our needy kupunas and houseless folks!

We praise the Lord for consistent opportunities to continue being the hands and feet of Jesus!

If you can help with preparing or delivering meals for some of our members who are confined to their homes on other days of the week please do not hesitate to contact Sharon Kamalii, Michele Seibel, or Pr. Jean. If you are in the high risk category, it’s safer at home. We can arrange it so that help can be staggered so the kitchen does not get overcrowded.

At the moment we could really use individually packaged drinks or water bottles right now! Please let us know when you can drop them off at the church!

Mahalo nui everyone!

Here are some ways that you can continue being a good financial steward of God's blessings during these times!

If you have not yet considered giving offerings or returning your tithes electronically, please take the time to maybe try it for the first time this weekend!

It is very simple. If you have an iPhone please go to the App Store or if you have an Android-based phone go to the Play Store and download: The AdventistGiving App.

It only takes minutes to set up your profile (you will need your bank or credit card info).

Once you are in the website or the app all you have to do is simply look up the church you are interested in giving to and you will find all of the categories that you would normally see on your tithe envelope.

Remember that if you return you tithes and offerings this way we can give you important reports that are useful for your taxes and tax returns.

If you return with your credit card you can enjoy all the benefits of your respective card's point systems as a bonus!

You can also access these same services by going to your church's web page.

Links are found at the top of this email and at the bottom.

The links below will take you to the various app stores or the website to set it up.

Google Play Store (Android devices)

Here is a wonderful opportunity for community prayer opportunities. Here are the links that allow prayer requests to be submitted to a diverse praying group from the Castle Advent Health Hospital.

Folks are also invited to join a zoom prayer line with Castle if they desire. This is great opportunity for prayer for those we know are in the hospital, while being able to add personal requests and community requests. Mahalo nui!
